The reactive observation, “That looks off - I was hurt once - don’t touch it.” This is really a rather simplistic decision to a situation. The idea of understanding, evaluating and deciding our decision making process, is quite possibly one of the most effective, yet difficult things to do. We are always being confronted with decisions, both big and small. These decisions usually carry with them some sort of emotional process that is important to us as individuals and are like an emotional compass that helps our decision process. We need to cultivate a discipline for making good decisions that seem contrary to our emotions or our initial thoughts based on past experience and feelings.
